501st Mountain Brigade, Bihac

History:

Part of 5th Corps of Army B&H

  • 1st Bihac Infantry Brigade

First formed as First Bihac Infantry Brigade on 19 July 1992 in village Kamenica near Bihac from following units:

  • Detachment of Territorial Defense Ljutoc with companies from Orasac, Cukova, Kulen-Vakuf and Ripac with 500 to 600 soliders
  • Detachment of TD Center - Bihac
  • Detachment of TD Baksis - Bihac
  • Mortar platoon from Municipal Headquarters of Territorial Defense Bihac
  • Parts of reconnaissance platoon from Municipal Headquarters of TD Bihac

501st brigade suffered 307 killed, 1763 wounded and 69 missing or captured soldiers and officers.
