The pilots are wearing their metal pilot insignia on the upper right pocket.In the RV i PVO VJ the ranks insignia are worn on the shoulder boards of the service and dress uniform (only for generals, officers and NCOs), while on the field uniform a metal or embroided insignia is worn on the left side, above the top pocket. Pilots also wear a metal pilot insignia on the right upper pocket of the service, dress or full dress uniform. A service branch insignia is worn on the lapels of the service and dress uniforms.

The generals and officers also have a blue full dress uniform. The dress and full dress uniforms are worn with the yellow-gold sash belt lined with the blue service color. The field uniform for all of the ranks has the same camouflage pattern used by the ground troops, but it differs only in the blue color of the beret. On all of the uniforms, the insignia of the VJ is worn on the left sleeve.

Cap and beret badge for the general officers.The general officers shoulder boards have a wreath with a crossed cannon and sword set in it, along with a single twisted yellow-gold cord. The general officers ranks are general-major (with one gold star), general-potpukovnik (with two stars), general pukovnik (with three stars) and general armije (with four stars).

The commissioned senior officers ranks are major (with one gold star), potpukovnik (two stars) and pukovnik (three stars).

The non-commissioned officers shoulder boards have a single thin yellow-gold chevron for the vodnik (with one gold star), vodnik prve klase (two stars), stariji vodnik (three stars) and stariji vodnik prve klase (four stars), or two thin yellow-gold chevrons for the zastavnik (one star) and zastavnik prve klase (two stars).
