26th Tank Division

of Yugoslav People's Army

History

Formed in 1950 in Skopje from 9th Mechanized Corps. Disbanded in 1959. Mostly equipped from US aid which started to arrive after Tito-Stalin breakup, M4 Sherman with 76mm gun, M18 Hellcat, M36 Jackson, M7 Priest and later M47 Patton.
