Andrija Andabak
( 1956 - 1992 )
Biography:
Born in 1956 in Split, father Stjepan, wife Nada. As a child he come to live in Nuštar near Vinkovci, Slavonia.
Before the war he worked in Vupik. After joining newly forming Croatian Army Andabak become proficient in anti-armor warfare and skilled with Malyutka (AT-3 Sagger) quickly becoming legend for numerous tanks he and his unit destroyed.
He was killed on 7 July 1992 in Bosanska Posavina and was buried in Nuštar.
Andabak is credit with destroying 32 enemy tanks and armored vehicles and in his honor Andrija Andabak certification was established for anyone who destroys three or more armored vehicles. Anti-armor battalion of 5th Guard Brigade was also named in his honor.
