Alfonso Cigala Fulgosi

( 1884 - 1943 )

Biography

Born on 16 October 1884 in Piacenza.

Served in First World war, wounded on Mount Athos, after recovery Cigala Fulgosi took part in the Second Battle of the Marne.

His had two sons Giuseppe who was officer in Italian Navy while Agostino served as a pilot in 51st Fighter Wing and died on 11 June 1943 on Sardinia.

Cigala Fulgosi was reactivated when war begun.

Captured by German 7th SS Division, tried and executed together with Salvatore Pelligra and Raffaele Policardi. 45 other Italian officers were executed following day.
