Dimitrije Georgijevic (Bugarski)

Biography

Dimitrije Georgijevic was born on 15 October 1892 in Kovin. He was member of Social democratic workers party 1908-1917 and Communist Party of Yugoslavia from 1919.

During World War 1 as soldier of k.u.k. army Georgijevic was captured by Russians and in 1917 joined detachment of Red army and participated in October revolution. At that time he changed his real last name Bugarski to Georgijevic.

Georgijevic remained in Red army until 1922 after which he held different duties in Soviet Union until 1927. Attends Sverdlovski university and Agrarian institute. He participated Spanish civil war from 1937 to 1939 when he returned to USSR.

During World War 2 he is again in Red army working on formation of Yugoslav brigades with which he arrived in Yugoslavia in 1944 and joins People's Liberation war (NOR).

After the war he held various positions in Yugoslav People's Army until he was retired in 1952. He was a member of Revision commission of Central Comity of CPY from 1948.
