Velibor Kikerec

Biography:

Born on 29 November 1925 in Slavonski Brod.

Fought with Yugoslav Partisans during World War 2. After the war he worked as jurist in different positions.

One of the founder of Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and first president of 1st OO HDZ Ploce. Elected for parliament secretary on 30 May 1990. From 16 August 1991 to 9 January 1992 Kikerec is on duty of assistant of Minister of Defense and works on defense organization tasks for which he received rank of Major General on 26 November 1991.

Retired by order of President Franjo Tudjman in October 1992. Becomes president of Croatian Officers Corps (Hrvatskoga časničkog zbora), organization which gathers active, reserve and retired officers and NCO’s of Croatian Armed Forces.

Velibor Kikerec, died on Saturday 17 June 2006 at age 81 and was buried on Mirogoj cemetery in Zagreb.
