Biography

Born in 1906. In 1931, Josip married Magdalena Mandica (born Pernar) with who he had two children daughter Marija in 1932 and soon Stjepan in 1934. Magdalena died in 1936 during failed abortion and daughter Marija was sent to uncle Tomo Pernar in France while Stjepan was taken over by his mother, Stjepan grandmother, Marija. Josip married again in 1938 with Mileva Jović with who he had another two children Slavko in 1939 and Jelica in 1946.

Josip Mesic joined partisans in 1941 and after war he held several duties in Slavonia. He died on 17 March 1955 from cancer.
