Mario Roatta

Biography
In July 1940, Roatta made a plan to attack Yugoslavia through German held Austria in order to outflank Yugoslav fortified Rupnik line. Plan which required 9000 German trucks and supplies for 8-10 Italian division was quickly rejected by Germans.
Roatta removal from command of the 2nd Army come after long pressure from Germans beacuse of his refusal for more aggressive anti-partisan actions as well as increasing reliance on Chetniks and supplying them weapons (ten times more then British airdrops) to fight Partisans.
