Erich Weyel

Biography

Born on 17 December 1909.

Weyel arrived in Serbia in summer of 1944 were he maintained liaison with captain Neško Nedić, chief of staff of the Chetnik commander for Serbia Miroslav J. Trifunović and directly commanded around 1000 Chetniks added to his combat group. He also as representative of German HQ for Serbia coordinated operations of Chetnik commanders Račić, Kalebić and Keserović together with German, Serbian quisling and Bulgarian units against Yugoslav Partisans during operation TRUMF.
