Anselmo Zanellato

Biography
.
Anselmo Zanellato served with Italian 49th Artillery Group garrisoned in Tolmin, Slovenia. On 22 November 1942 he lead a patrol of 9 soldiers escorting supplies to stronghold at Krikov Vrh.
At 10:30 a.m. on mountain path Ljubinj mountain - Lom, some 5 kilometers from Ljubinja, patrol was ambushed by around 30 men armed with rifles, automated weapons and grandees which have withdrawn after 15 minute skirmish.
Zanellato together artillerymen Dante Sajoni (born 1917) later died from wounds in military hospital at Gorica. Three more soldiers were wounded, two of them very lightly, also one mule was killed and patrol lost three carbines.
