5th Corps of Army RB&H, Bihac
Fifth Corps of Army of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina
History
Fifth Corps was formed on 21 October 1992 by order of Presidency of B&H no: 02-111-738/92, order for beginning of forming came from Supreme Command on 29 September. Into newly formed Corps entered officers from dissolved Una-Sana operational group which controlled all infantry brigades in Bihac pocket and parts of reformed Municipal staff of Territorial Defense Bihac who's formations and duties were reduced. Initially major Hajrudin Osmanagic was named corps commander but that order was revoked before he took over and Ramiz Drekovic become first corps commander.
On the day of the forming Corps had following armament:
- one T-55 tank
- two field guns 76mm ZIS
- one BOV APC
- mortars 60mm, 82mm and 120mm
- 1094 automatic rifles
- 479 semi-automatic rifles
- 152 light machine-guns
- 120 machine-guns
- 48 sniper rifles
- 10 Osa anti-tank launchers
- 28 Zolja anti-tank launchers
- 9 M57 anti-tank launchers
- 11 RBR
- 9 RPG
- 3 anti-aircraft guns
- 2 recoilless guns
- numerous variants of hunting rifles
