The Illyrian Provinces

1809 - 1815

The Illyrian Provinces were divided into 6 civilian and one military province. Capital city was Ljubljana. The Governor of these provinces was General August Marmont. The provinces were:

I. Carinthia (Koroška)

  • Capital: Lienz

II. Istria (Istra)

  • Capital: Trieste
  • Centers of districts: Gorica, Koper, Rovinj

III. Carniolla (Kranjska)

  • Capital: Villach
  • Centers of districts: Kranj, Novo Mesto, Postojna

IV. Civil Croatia (Civilna Hrvatska)

  • Capital: Karlovac
  • Centers of district: Rijeka

V. Military Croatia (Vojna Hrvatska)

  • Centre of district: Senj

VI. Dalmatia (Dalmacija)

  • Capital: Zadar
  • Centers of districts: Makarska, Split, Å ibenik

VII. Dubrovnik and Kotor

  • Capital: Dubrovnik
  • Centre of district: Kotor
