Dornier Do-17

History

Standard German bomber saw widespread use in Yugoslavia, K model was bought and produced in Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Captured K models Germans turned over to Bulgarian and NDH air forces.

Bomber group made of pilots from NDH air force serving with Luftwaffe on Eastern front of equiped with Z-2 model. Group returned to NDH on 1 December 1942 and become 15./53 Kampfgeschwader.

In early 1943, NDH air force received further 30 of model E, one of which defected to Tito's Partisans but was destroyed on the ground before its flight to Italy. Ivo Lola Ribar was killed in that aircraft.

At the end of 1943, squadron of Bulgarian Do 17 was moved to Kraljevo for use in operation Kugelblitz.
