Proud resistance heritage dating back to one of the successful fighting against Ottoman empire resulted in massive uprising in 1941 but once initial success was gone division between communist and nationalist which were again split into pro-Serbian and separatist fraction resulted in bloody civil war being fought in the background of World War 2.
