Carro Armato M11/39


M11/39 was medium tank for breakthrough created to supplement light CV series. When it was realized in 1933 that new tankette was not absolute replacement for Fiat 3000, Fiat-Ansaldo constructed 12-tons assault tank model 32 based on enlarged tankette chassis. It received Fiat commercial diesel engine 643N and on vehicle without turret short 45mm gun was placed in the front part of the tank together with four machine-guns around hull. This vehicle didn't entree production but work continued on constructing lighter 8-tons tank.

New tank appeared in 1935 with 37mm 40 caliber Vickers Terni gun in front right side of tank. Weapon could be elevated 15° left or right, 12° up or down. Gunner sit on the right, driver on the left
