Many dreaded prison changed numerous owner of the decades from Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Yugoslav kingdom, Germans, Italians, Ustashe, Serbian collaborationist regime only to end up serving there previous regular tenants in the end - Communists.

Zagreb Ustashe Military prison in Nova Ves street for deserters (and soldiers who disobeyed orders - mostly Home Defense soldiers), it was considered half prison half camp.

Glavnjaca Belgrade Special Police & Gestapo / Yugoslav After the war Milan Nedic was imprisoned in it and committed suicide and later received communists again before being demolished.
