Army Group F

Heeresgruppe F

History

Constant increase in strength of Yugoslav Partisans finally forced German high command to create separate command to cover most of Yugoslavia based on Hitler's Directive No. 48 from 26 July 1943. Army Group F was also Armed Forces South East Command in charge of all units on Balkan making it superior to Army Group E.

With loss of Greece, area of Army Group F was absorbed step by step by Army Group E as it was withdrawing until it was disbanded.
