History

Before start of withdrawal of Army Group E began 297th division and 21st Mountain Corps were transferred under its command in order to ease coordination since 21st Corps was suppose to cover withdrawal route from any possible interference by Western Allies or both Yugoslav and Albanian Partisans. Withdrawal lasted for two months, from November to January 1945 taking troops by route Ohrid - Tirana - Shkodër (Scutari) - Vjetarnik/Vjeternik Pass - Bijelo Polje - Višegrad - Sarajevo - Slavonski Brod.
