History

Original division was destroyed at Stalingrad, new one was formed in 1943 and sent to northern Italy. From 2 October to 25 November 1943 division was located in Istria and Croatian Littoral before being returned to 14th Panzer Corps in Italy.

In 1944 division was withdrawn from Italy and sent to Baranya where it fought in Batina operation, it remained part of 68th Army Corps, 2nd Panzer Army in Hungary until end of the war.
