717. Infanterie-Division

History

Together with 704th, 714th and 718th Infantry Divisions 717th is part of the first German occupation units in Yugoslavia.

In 1943 it is reformed as 117th Jäger Division.

War crimes

Division carried out massacres in Kraljevo and Kragujevac (1st Battalion of the 724th Infantry Regiment, Major Paul König).
