3rd SS Panzer Corps

III. (germanisches) SS-Panzerkorps

History

Began to arrive at the end of August 1943, took part in disarming Italian troops in Karlovac area.

Served for short period before being transferred to Eastern front, Corps troops quickly gained notoriety for indiscriminate murder of civilians even those loyal to NDH puppet regime further undermining its authority.

• Corps Staff - Zagreb, Jesuit monastery (today Klovićevi dvori/Palace of Klović)
• 11th SS Panzergrenadier Division Nordland - Lekenik - Gora (SW PEtrinja) - Kostajnica - Novoselci
• Panzergrenadier Brigade Nederland (50%, rest arriving on 3 September) - Krapina - Krapinske toplice - Jablovonec - Stubica
• Staff, 2nd Battalion/SS-Panzer-Regiment 5 and SS-Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 5 - Samobor NW
• SS-Panzer-Regiment 11 - western end of Zagreb (Agram)
• SS-Nachrichten-Abteilung 11 - Gorica
• SS-Sanitäts-Abteilung 11 - Lučko - Golibreg
• SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment "Germania" - arriving to Rann (Brežice) on 3 September
• SS-Instandsetzungs-Abteilung 11 (Maintenance) - arriving to Sesvete on 3 September

Battles & Campaigns

• Nov 1943 - Operation GEIGER - Ludberg, 25 Partisans reported killed
• Nov 1943 - Operation Uskokengebirge? (Žumberak - Uskok mountain)
