Ustasha youth

(Ustaška mladež)

Youth organization of Ustasha Movement formed on 4 November 1941 by decision of poglavnik Ante Pavelić. It's structural organization was made by: managing Office of commander of Ustasha youth (Upravno zapovjedništvo Ustaške mladeži) - commander was directly responsible to poglavnik Ante Pavelić. He had two deputies - one for male and other female youth. In the areas of large parish, cities and villages established staffs (stožeri), camps (logori) and encampments (tabori) run by the chief official (stožernici), camp commander (logornik) and commander (tabornik).

Organization of Ustasha youth covered entire youth form age 7 to 21 years old and was divided to:

  • ustasha mainstay (ustaÅ¡ka uzdanica), and was divided separately for male and separately for female - covered age 7 to 11 - in primary schools
  • ustasha heroes (ustaÅ¡ke junake) - again separately for men and for girls - covered age 11 to 15 - early gymnasium years
  • ustasha Starchevitcheva youth (ustaÅ¡ka Starčevićeva mladež) - with individual male and female lodge - covered age 15 to 21 - students.

As part of organization are departments run by managers:

a) for ustasha pre-military training
b) for religious education
c) for propaganda
d) for physical education
e) for art
f) for health
g) for society-economy care
h) for housekeeping - for female youth only

From 1 January organization starts to published its paper Ustaška mladež.
