Chetnik command
in Kingdom of Yugoslavia and April war
History
In April 1940, Yugoslav government formed Chetnik command which created six complete and one partial battalion from voluntaries from regular army. Each army had one battalion and located in Novi Sad, Sarajevo, Skopje, Karlovac, Niš and Mostar. Chetnik command was first in Novi Sad and later in Kraljevo. Few days after beginning of April war it retreated to Sarajevo and together with Sarajevo chetnik battalion surrendered to Germans on 18 April 1941. No records exist that any of the chetnik battalion, carried out its purpose of guerilla war during or after April war.
