Operation DRAVA

(Podhvat Drava)

Intro

Operation DRAVA was anti-partisan operation in area around Ivanec in NW Croatia from 28 to 29 July 1944.

History

Mixed company advanced at 3 a.m. on axis of Ivanec - Fotez brieg - Vincekovića brieg - D. Voće - Turkov brieg where it linked up with German Field Police which arrived Skoki - Banfići - Hill 324 to border of Third Reich. Both units advanced in battle formations in direction Turkov brieg - Kukci - Hill 286 - Hill 336 up to the line Galicec - Zlognja - Hill 433. In Galicec Mixed company linked up with 3rd Battalion at 12:30 resuming advance to Višnjica arriving there at 13:30. After brief rest from Višnjica, Mixed Comapny together with German Field Police advanced on axis Višnjica - Žarevnica - Vrhovnev - Lepoglava where it arrived at 17:30.
