With Operation NIBELUNGENFAHRT tying down most of Partisans units, 15th Mountain Corps probably took opportunity to use remaining regimental group from 114th Jager Division for one last operation before it would be "lost" to Army Group C which need reinforcements to eliminate Anzio bridgehead.

Aftermath

Despite destroying such huge lot, even bigger amount of weapons was discovered in the same area just two months later during Operation KEULENSCHLAG, German forces obviously didn't have time to make proper search of the area besides being unable to repair the roads and transport captured equipment to safety.
