Operation FLIEGENFÄNGER

(Fly-trap)

History

Local operation during which two battalions from the 27th SS Regiment of the 13th SS Division together with Chetniks from Majevica with goal of eliminating partisan airfield Osmak and area Papraći-Šekovići on 14 July 1944 defended by Yugoslav Partisan 19th Birač brigade of the 27th Division.

German battalions managed to capture the airfield and damage the runway but only lightly and it was fixed in a day, 19th Brigade managed to push back the German battalions before it task was taken over by 36th Vojvodina Division
