Although Germans managed to secure port city of Split, Yugoslav Partisans had enough time to move large quantities of captured Italian war material and hide it in the mountains and recruit many of the city inhabitants to their ranks.

17 day delay and losses suffered prevented Germans to take full control of the coastline and Dalmatian islands come under Partisans control forcing Germans to carry out several operations before securing them.
