Operation LEANDER

History

Parts of German 114th Jäger Division advanced from Lika towards Adriatic coast in order to take positions for expected Italian surrender.

Gathering of this German division in Bihać region puzzled General Staff of Croatia which expected it to be used against Partisan held areas of Kordun and Lika and deployed 8th Kordun and 13th Division in defensive positions what placed them in a wrong locations when Italy surrendered and race towards sea begun.
