During initial stages of Batina operation Corps was thinly spread with its 299th Rifle Division guarding Danube left bank from Bačka Palanka to Batina, leaving only one division for each crossing at Batina and Apatin. Most of the infantry battalions were already reduced by months of continues combat. This was soon shown to be insufficient and much more would be need to breakthrough.

On 14 November, Batina bridgehead with 233th Rifle Division was subordinated to 64th Rifle Corps leaving 75th Corps to concrete on Apatin bridgehead. Corps was further reinforced with 236th Rifle Division from 57th Army reserve and Yugoslav Partisans 8th Vojvodina Brigade of the 51st Division. Also available was entire Corps artillery, 25. Anti-tank and 25th Guards Mortar Regiment
