History

Formed on December 30th 1942 from 12th, 17th and 16th Brigade Joža Vlahović as 4th Croatian Division. Fought in Slavonia, Psunj-Papuk operation (Operation Braun), and Hrvatsko Zagorje (13 July 1943 liberated 700 prisoners from Lepoglava). In final operations of JA participated in defence of Virovtica bridgehead and in liberation of several towns in Slavonia and Podravina.
