28th Slavonian Division
(Dvadesetosma slavonska divizija)
History
Formed on 17 May 1943 in area of villages Vucjak and Ljutoca on Papuk mountain from 17th and 21st Slavonian brigades. Fought Pozega, Banija Zagorje, Moslavina, Podravina, Turopolje and Pokupje regions until September 1944 when it crossed into eastern Bosnia and later Serbia. There it participated in Belgrade operation and in final operations in liberation of parts of Bosnia.
