Coup on March 27th 1941

On the night from March 26th to 27th, group of Air Force and Army officers overthrow regime of Prince Pavle and government president Cvetković. Although the plan of coup was discussed for months, it seems that final phase was made in a hurry and both phases with the help of British representatives in Belgrade.

Planners and executors of the coup were group of pro-west oriented officers for Air Force Command in Zemun and from units of Royal Guard in Belgrade. Officers in the rank of generals were only from Air Force while those from land army and guard were only middle ranking officers.
