History

After capitulation corps commander planed to withdraw hist units to Italy but quick reaction from Germans and Yugoslav Partisans prevented Italian plans. In the afternoon of the September 9 one German battalion disarmed staff of 11th Army Corps together with staff of Cacciatori delle Alpi division and its regiments and battalions in Ljubljana and surrounding area.

Similar fate found Italian units along Ljubljana-Postojna-Trieste railway which was jointly guarded by Germans and Italians which allowed Germans to immediately place vital rail link under their control. Yugoslav Partisans managed to disarm most of Isozno division and numerous garrison spread out across Slovenia.
