16th Corps of NOVJ

(Šesnaesti korpus NOVJ)

History

Formed in October 1944 from 42nd Macedonian and Kumanovo division. Fought along communication Veles-Skopje-Vranje, Skopje-Tetovo and Kriva Palanka-Stracin-Kumanovo, and participated in liberation: Kumanovo, Veles, Skopje, Tetovo and in cleaning terrain between Preševa and Gnjilana. Disbanded in December 1944.
