2nd Assault Corps of NOVJ

(Drugi udarnički korpus NOVJ)

History

Formed on 10 October 1943 from the 2nd Proletarian and 3rd Assault divisions. Later the 29th Herzegovina and 37th Sandzak division and the Primorje Operative Group were added. Fought in Montenegro, Sandžak and Herzegovina. During Andrijevica operation broken 21st SS Division 'Skenderbeg'. Participated in Durmitor operation. Liberated Montenegro, Sandžak and part of Herzegovina and participated in Sarajevo operation. Disbanded on 25 April 1945 and transferred units to 2nd Army and 3rd Army.
