Formed on 22 November 1942 with 6th Lika, 7th Banija and 8th Kordun divisions as First Corps of People's Liberation Army of Croatia (NOVH) and by order of of Supreme Headquarters of NOV i POJ on 5 October 1943 renamed as Fourth Corps. Fought in Croatia, South of the Sava river and in operations in Una river valley. During the Fourth offensive (Operation WEISS) Corps was heavily engaged on Banija, Kordun and defended liberated area of Lika. During 1943 in successful actions created liberated territory between rivers Una and Sava, Slovenia, Gorski Kotar and Lika. In final operations of Yugoslav army, corps participated in liberation of Bihać, Lika, Karlovac and Zagreb. Disbanded on 15 May 1945.
