6th Corps of NOVJ

1st Slavonian Corps
(Prvi Slavonski korpus)

History

Formed on 17 May 1943 from 12th and 28th Slavonian divisions. In the beginning of September of 1944, the 40th Slavonian division was formed so 6th Corps had three divisions, two groups of Partisan detachments and special units. Fought in Slavonija, Hrvatsko Zagorje, Bosnia and Slovenia. From 1 January 1945, 6th Corps was under command of Staff of 3rd Army and in final operations of JA participates in liberation of Slavonija, Moslavina, Hrvatsko Zagorje and Slovenia. 6th Corps was disbanded on 24 April 1945.
