History

By March 1943 little was left of guerilla warfare which dominated Yugoslav front past year with fixed front lines it turned into standard attritional warfare. Several strong partisan formation were still operating behind enemy lines but there effectives was now hampered by large number of Axis troops massed in small area leaving little targets of opportunity for surprise attacks, still these formations served valuable supporting role for advancing force once breakthroughs in front lines have been achieved.
